  Christ Gospel is a Pentecostal Church located in Rome, Georgia. They are a Christian group, and like most Christian denominations, it espouses a set of doctrines known as the Apostles' Creed. Like most Pentecostal groups, the church believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and Christ Gospel services are exuberant celebrations. People sing, shout, dance, clap, run, praise, and worship God with all their beings.​​
  
  Yet at times the services are quiet enough to hear a pin drop as members study the Bible attentively. Christ Gospel churches believe that worshiping God embraces the use of all kinds of music and instruments.​

  At Christ Gospel Church of Rome, one will hear traditional church instruments -- piano, organ, drums, flute, electric and bass guitars, as well as traditional church instruments accompanying traditional church hymns, country gospel music, black gospel music, and as well as modern contemporary music.
  
  The church emphasizes the importance of people being united in the love of Christ, regardless of nationality, race,sex, or creed. In fact, Christ Gospel churches were racially integrated long before the rest of society - not because the church was politically active, but merely because it strongly believed this was the right way for Christians to be.
  
  Neither its leaders nor Christ Gospel Affiliated Churches believe that they are the only Christians going to heaven. In fact they maintain that Christians everywhere should rejoice whenever the name of Christ is upheld. Christ Gospel churches believe that their ministry is to help Christians discover a closer walk with God. Like other major religions in the world, Christ Gospel Churches believe that the ultimate experience of human beings is to achieve total oneness with the Divine; consequently, the church's teachings involve helping Christians grow spiritually until Christ totally fills their lives.

  Because they strive for perfect union with Christ, most church members renounce some activities that distract one's mind from God. These renunciations follow the standards of old-fashioned holiness. The women do not wear makeup nor cut their hair. All dress modestly. Their goal is to live full, complete lives while keeping Christ at the center of their thoughts and activities.
  
  The church, however, teaches that there are different levels of commitment to God, which are a matter of individual conscience. Although the church has a strong sense of religious commitment, there are no rigid requirements of conformity for membership. People are encouraged to devote their lives to God, and to walk in the light of truth that God has given them personally. Most Christ Gospel members attend church, Bible study, or prayer groups several times a week. In all other respects they participate fully in all aspects of society. They believe in living full, wholesome lives, enjoying good, clean fun, marrying, rearing families, buying homes, going to school, college, developing careers, striving for excellence, and being responsible, moral citizens in all their actions.

  I was raised in the Rome Christ Gospel Church. During my years living for the LORD, I had gotten away from the church due to circumstances out of my control. The past seven years have been a very rough time for me. Last year, I had reached the end of my rope. I had no desire to live and was ready to end it all. I was given an opportunity to re-locate to Rome, Ga with family and I accepted this opportunity. I was very distraught with my life and could see no hope. Reluctantly, I returned to Christ Gospel with my family. I loved the church and the people but I allowed my state of mind to rule, as you know, this rarely brings true peace.
  It was not until after a few weeks that I had begun to realize why the great depression that I found myself in. For so long, I was looking here and there to fill voids in my life. I was skipping from church to church with NO stability in my natural or spiritual life. God allowed me to descend to a very low and dark place in order for me to see what I was missing. I had my heart in the right place but needed direction. I needed the LORD to lead me instead of myself, along with my own carnal choices. I do not say what I am about to say for NO other reason than to give GOD ALL THE GLORY!!! Without Him, I would not me writing this now to share with you.
  The message of Christ Gospel has changed my life. I cannot express in words just how or why but I know that I am not the same person that I was last year. I now know who I am and why I have been down so many paths in life. It was not by chance that I am where I am now. When you have been awakened to the truth of Gods holy word, You come to realize that EVERYTHING you go through and endure is predestinated before the foundation of the world for YOUR GOOD!!!
  If you are looking for a place of worship that is not scripted and restricted, I would highly recommend Christ Gospel of Rome, Ga. They teach and live BY THE BIBLE. Rev. and Sis. Calvert are wonderful pastors and they love the LORD with all their heart, soul, body, and mind.
  The people there are no different. There is no judgement and there is no dictatorship, just a free and fresh environment in the LORD Jesus Christ!!!! If you are ready to break free from the chains of division, bondage, and perplexities of life, come snd see what God can do for you. I gaurantee that if you come with a true desire for more of God, There is no limit to the hieghts and depths in which you can grow in Christ Jesus. Believe me, I am experiencing new hieghts every day!! Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.

  I was born and raised in Christ Gospel Church here in Rome, Ga. As I got older I strayed as most people often do, but one thing remained to be true. I always returned "home". I am far from perfect, and I learned that no matter how far I strayed, how many times I tried to leave or wanted to leave I always ended up right back where I belonged. This Church and this message has taught me over and over again that we are ALL God's children and He loves us all no matter who we are, the color of our skin, or how many times we fall. God doesn't see how many times we fall. He only sees how many times we get back up. I am so thankful and grateful for the Teachers and Leaders for not giving up on me over the years and who still, to this day, welcome me with open arms as though I never left. I thank God every day for Parents that brought me to church even when I didnt always want to go. I also thank our great and wonderful Savior for dying for me and my sins so that I might live and find my way back to Him.
